Things to do while in Rwanda for the 2024 BAL Season

Rwanda also known as the “land of a thousand hills” is worth exploring when you have a few days to spare while visiting the city. Rwanda is rich in culture, bio-diversity, wildlife and tourism adventures. Depending on how many days one has after the BAL season you can choose to explore Kigali city on a 1 Day Kigali City tour that will take you to key landmarks in the city like the Kigali genocide memorial, Kandt museum for a glimpse into the history of Rwanda and also have an opportunity to visit a local crafts center.

If you have two days to spare you have an opportunity to do the 2 Days Akagera National Park Wildlife Safari. This is a great way to relax and enjoy some game viewing after the action packed Basketball Africa League as you visit one of Rwanda’s finest National Park. Akagera National Park is located just two and a half hours away from Kigali City and is home to the Big Five animals in Rwanda. A game drive in the park will offer you an opportunity with the help of your professional tour guide to look out for lions, elephants, zebras, buffaloes, Roan antelope, Sitatunga, Warthogs, Maasai Giraffes, Impala, Klipspringer, Common Duiker,Oribi, Bohor reed buck, Defassa waterbuck and Bush buck among others. Other tours to do that we would highly recommend include the 1 Day Akagera tour and a 3 Days Nyungwe Forest tour that involves doing the chimpanzee trek and the famous Nyungwe Forest Canopy walk.

Rwanda is rich in bio-diversity and one can choose to enjoy the Basketball Africa League (BAL) while sparing time to visit some of Rwanda’s icon tourism destinations!
