Tour Plan

The tour starts with pick up by your driver guide at 7:00 am from your hotel in Kampala/Entebbe where you will have arrived the previous night. You then start the journey to Kibale National Park in western Uganda. The journey to the park is a 5 hours drive with a stopover in Fort Portal Town for lunch. The drive is scenic as it takes you through the ever green landscape of Uganda as you drive past busy local trading centers. Journey time: 5 hours Accommodation Options: Ndali Lodge (Luxury), Turaco Treetops (Mid-range) or Chimpanzee Forest Lodge (Budget)
Have breakfast at the lodge early in the morning and then your driver guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for a briefing from your ranger guide. After the briefing, you start the journey into the rain forest as you look out for the chimpanzee, man’s closest relative. Once you locate the chimps you will spend one hour with them as you watch them hop around the tree branches, feed, play, and feed their young ones. You will also be able to capture great shots of the chimpanzee during this time. Bird species and other monkeys can be seen while on the chimp trek. In the afternoon you will go on a Bigodi wetland walk. The Bigodi Wetland Walk is a community-run initiative outside the park boundary adjacent to the Bigodi trading center. The wetland is home to several species of monkeys including the black-and-white colobus, red-tailed, vervet, and olive baboons. The wetland hosts several bird species that you can look out for along the trail. The most sought-after bird while on the walk is the Great Blue Turaco which is a beautiful bird with stunning blue plumage. The wetland walk ends with visiting the community to get a look into the culture and life of the locals that live on the edge of the Kibale forest. Accommodation Options: Ndali Lodge (Luxury), Turaco Treetops (Mid-range) or Chimpanzee Forest Lodge (Budget)
After the rewarding chimpanzee trek in Kibale you will start the travel journey back to Kampala arriving later in the day. Your guide will then drop you off at your hotel or the airport for your flight. Journey time: 5 hours Meal Plan: Breakfast and Lunch
