Diplo visits Uganda and goes gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Looks like American DJ Diplo recently quietly visited Uganda and tracked the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The global icon and music producer took to his social media to share videos from his visit to Uganda which came as a surprise to many of his social media followers. His social media replies and comments were filled with people happy to see him in Uganda and others welcoming him to the Pearl of Africa – Uganda.
The videos shared were of his gorilla trekking in Uganda experience. Uganda is one of the best countries to track the mountain gorillas in the wild and the country is home to more than half of the world’s mountain gorilla population. The gorilla trekking experience brings you face to face with these gentle giants in the thick Bwindi Forest.
Diplo also shared videos enjoying the stunning lush landscape of Uganda. Uganda is not only home to the mountain gorillas but is also known for its beautiful landscapes, rich culture and off-the beaten path experiences. So it was nice to see Diplo enjoy and showcase the beauty of Uganda.

What does Diplo’s visit to Uganda mean for gorilla tourism in Uganda
Diplo’s visit to Uganda is a positive contributor to Uganda’s tourism because his visit highlights the importance of conserving the mountain gorillas. The mountain gorillas should be protected and the ability to visit them is testament to the conservation efforts that have been done over the years. Conservation bodies working hand in hand with the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) have invested heavily in protecting these gorillas from poaching and ensuring that they live undisturbed lives in Bwindi National Park.
Diplo’s visit is therefore great for gorilla tourism because possibly with or without knowing, sharing that he tracked the mountain gorillas in Uganda has possibly encouraged his followers to consider visiting Uganda and when they do visit, they also will contribute to gorilla conservation.

Diplo’s visit to Uganda has also amplified Uganda as a tourism destination, Uganda has been a less visited destination over the years but that is the beauty of it because Uganda offers an authentic safari experience. Less visitors and more in-depth experience. Diplo visiting therefore amplifies the destination and its authenticity.
In the era of social media which we currently live under, marketing has shifted goal posts to video and Diplo sharing videos of his mountain gorilla tracking experience in Uganda will contribute to marketing the gorilla trek to other potential visitors across the world.
