TAASA Migration Camp | New luxury Camp Opening Soon in Serengeti

Taasa Migration Camp is going to be a luxury migration camp that moves throughout Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is famously known for the annual Great Migration which is the longest overland migration in the world. This annual migration involves millions of wildebeest and zebras as they migrate in search of fresh water and food as the seasons change throughout the year. The annual Great Migration sees over a million wildebeest migrate from the Serengeti National park as they cross north in to the Maasai Mara, they are usually joined by Grant’s gazelle, Thomson’s gazelle and elands along the way. The animals pass through the Mara River and Grumeti River that are filled with about 3000 crocodiles waiting to lunge on them but even this does not stop the animal’s quest for lush green grass and fresh water. The Great Migration is one of the most fascinating wildlife encounters in Africa. Taasa Migration Camp will follow the migratory wildlife through the vast plains as guests get to have a closer experience of the Great Migration.
Accommodation at TAASA Migration Camp
The new luxury camp will feature 12 lavish tented suites, these suites will include options for families and groups with 2 inter connecting tents. Each tented suite will offer uninterrupted views of The Serengeti with much needed privacy and exclusivity while on safari. The tented suites at TAASA Migration Camp will also feature cozy large wooden beds with linen bed sheets and colorful throw pillows, storage space, tea/coffee making station and an En-suite bathroom fully stocked with key amenities.
Facilities at TAASA Migration Camp will include an outdoor fire pit, laundry services, room service, a tented bar, a lounge, a curio shop and Wi-Fi.
Guests on safari in The Serengeti will have an opportunity to engage in activities that include game drives (both full and half day game drives), balloon safaris and enjoy sun downers in the midst of the savanna national park.

The rates for TAASA Migration Camps will start from $900 per person for single occupancy and $780 per person sharing for double occupancy. You can book through info@taasalodge.com or book through your tour operator who will be planning your safari in Tanzania.
Location of TAASA Migration Camp as it follows the Migration herds
Throughout the Migration Season, TAASA Migration Camp will relocate to different sections of Serengeti National Park as it follows the migration herds. This is done in order to have the best game viewing experience while on safari for each season. Below is the breakdown of the locations during each season;
Dry Season, Kogatende – July to October
This is the best time of the year to witness the infamous Mara River Crossing. TAASA Migration Camp will be situated in this area during the entire season, the Kogatende area is a prime viewing area for migratory wildlife especially large herds of wildebeest and Zebra that are concentrated around the water sources during the Great Migration. The nearest Airstrip to this area is the Kogatende Airstrip.
Green Season, Ndutu – December to March
During the Green Season TAASA Migration Camp moves to Ndutu situated in the green Southern Serengeti, while here you have chances of looking out for the new born wildebeest during calving season. Game drives in the Ndutu Area are rewarding and offer incredible wildlife encounters. The nearest Airstrip to this area is the Ndutu Airstrip.
Shoulder Season, Mosabi Plains/Mareu – May to June
During the wet season, TAASA Migration Camp will set up in Mosabi Plains/Mareu area. This area offers spectacular game viewing as well which is supported by the shoulder season. This is one of the best times to visit The Serengeti as you get to experience the beauty of lush landscape and also have chances to look out for some of the young wildlife that was born earlier in the year. The nearest airstrip to the Mosabi Plains/Mareu area is Seronera Airstrip.
