Maggie’s Takeaway Kitchen | Places to eat in Fort Portal City

Located along Ruhandiika Street in Fort Portal city, Maggie’s takeaway kitchen is one of the best fast food restaurants in Fort Portal. The reasonably sized kitchen and restaurant is a small establishment that is committed to making affordable fast food meals.

The restaurant offers different meals that include French fries, sausages, liver, grilled chicken, deep fried whole fish, beef, whole chicken, chapatti and rolex (a famous Ugandan meal that is made with a chapatti and fried eggs.) Visitors staying around the city can order directly from the restaurant, the restaurant arranges delivery but it’s usually better to just visit the kitchen  and order directly to get your meals hot.

Fort Portal city is a relatively busy town and visitors on safari in Uganda are most times looking for areas to eat and Maggie’s takeaway kitchen is one of the most affordable restaurants that we recommend. The meals and snacks range from Ugx. 2000 (approximately $1) – Ugx. 29,000 ($8).

Fort Portal is also a top tourism destination and while searching for places to eat during your stay you can also consider doing some activities and visiting attractions nearby like Kibale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park and Semuliki National Park. All these parks are easily accessible from the town and offer activities like chimpanzee trekking, game drives and bird watching.
