This is because the beach hotel is located just a 45 minutes’ drive from Volcanoes National Park, the home to the mountain gorillas in Rwanda.
Lake Kivu is a top attraction in Rwanda and is one of the rift valley lakes in the country. Lake Kivu is known for its stunning picturesque views and is situated at the highest point of the East African valley at an elevation of 1,500m surrounded by geothermal springs and active volcanoes. Lake Kivu drains southward via the Rusizi River 100 kilometers to Lake Tanganyika. The lake covers an area of 2370 square kilometers with a maximum depth of 485m and is located at the border between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda. A boat ride on the lake will treat you to beautiful views and a far off view of the Democratic Republic of Congo, the land border is a few minutes’ drive away from Inzozi beach hotel.

The hotel features 17 en-suite rooms that are beautifully decorated and with comfortable beds. The best feature about the rooms at Inzozi Beach hotel is most definitely the stunning view of Lake Kivu from the room balcony. Staying here means you get to wake up to views of the sunrise over Lake Kivu. On some days you will hear the beautiful harmonious songs sung by the fishermen and the locals as they encourage the rowers in the dugout canoes heading for the shore after an entire night on the lake, such a beautiful experience!

Facilities and Services at Inzozi Beach Hotel
Swimming pool – The hotel features a swimming pool where guests can choose to relax by the pool side or swim after most likely in the afternoon. The swimming pool is situated close to the main area and towels as well as other swimming essentials like sandals can be given to you by the staff.
Reception Desk – The reception area at the hotel is the first place you encounter when you get to the hotel and here you meet the staff who will welcome you to the property and take you through a short briefing session before showing you to your room. The reception is where you go in case you have any queries throughout your stay.
Restaurant – The hotel features a restaurant that served delicious meals and has local food available if you would like to try that. The restaurant serves a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. We always recommend that you order tilapia fish if fish is something you love.
Bar – The resort has a well-stocked bar available at the property where you order drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The bar has an assortment of beers, wines and spirits.

There are a number of activities that can make your stay at Inzozi beach hotel even more memorable. Top things to do while here include;
Boat ride on Lake Kivu – This is probably the best way to explore the beautiful and calm Lake Kivu. The boat ride is on a motorized dugout boat that involves exploring the lake as you pass by the small islands and also come across the local fishermen as they go about their day. The boat ride offers picturesque views of the rolling hills and surrounding lush vegetation on the lake shores. The guided boat ride is a perfect way to spend an afternoon while staying here.
Gorilla Trekking at Volcanoes National Park – You can also go on the mountain gorilla trekking adventure while staying at Inzozi beach hotel. The resort is a one hour drive from Volcanoes National Park so you wake up as early as 4:30 am, have an early breakfast and then with your packed lunch start the journey to the Kinigi park headquarters with your driver guide. The drive to Volcanoes National Park is scenic and gives you a glimpse into Gisenyi town, on arrival at the park headquarters where you meet your guide for a briefing session before setting out in to the jungle in search of the mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking in Rwanda is a worthwhile adventure that brings you closer to the gorillas in the deep jungles of Rwanda. Once you locate the gorillas you are allowed to spend one hour with them during which you can watch them and take photos.
Other activities to do while here include bird watching, swimming (although we rarely recommend swimming as there are chances of contracting bilharzia from the lake waters) and community visits. Please note that the hotel can get quite loud especially on weekends as they tend to have locals from the surrounding communities meeting up for leisure and to relax by the lake so bear this in mind as you book Inzozi Beach Hotel.
