Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from the Aiport 

The trip will start on this day with pick up from Zanzibar International Airport. Our guides in Tanzania will be aware of your arrival and will be waiting at the airport to pick you up. After exchanging greetings, your driver will then transfer you to your hotel in stone town. Check in at the hotel, relax and have dinner as you look forward to experiencing Zanzibar.

Day 2: Stone Town Tour and Spice farm tour 

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel you will go on day tour of Stone Town. Stone Town is a magical town that has maintained its historical landmarks so touring the town offers you a feeling of being in a rustic dated town with rich historical landmarks. You will explore different areas of the town with your guide and visit areas like the famous fruit market, Zanzibar museum, the old Anglica church built on the slave market, the site where slaves were auctioned, Forodhani and explore the streets of Stone town. You will also encounter locals that live in the historical town. The town offers great areas to take photos and capture moments as well. The stone town tour involves walking so make sure you wear comfortable shoes so that the experience is smooth for you.

In the afternoon you will go on a spice farm tour, this is one of the most sought after tours in Zanzibar. The spice farm tour takes you through a spice farm with different kinds of spices, here you get to smell the spices, explore unique spices and even buy some spices if you would like. Spices at the farm include vanilla, cinnamon you have an opportunity to see cinnamon trees, lemon grass spice which has great medicinal benefits and is a common tea spice here, pepper spices and red curry plants that are used to make lipstick.

The farm also has fruits that you are allowed to taste during the tour. Lots of jackfruit trees, avocado trees, custard apples, pineapples, coconut trees and nutmeg fruits. This experience is more like a farm tour but this time you get to learn about the indigenous spices that were introduced by the traders and residents of Zanzibar in the past times. After the tour you return to the hotel at the end of the day, relax and then have your dinner before heading to bed.

Day 3: Transfer to Nungwi Beach

On this day you will transfer to Nungwi beach which is one hour and 20 minutes away from Stone Town. The drive to the beach offers you a glimpse into the countryside, you drive through villages and beach towns. On arrival you check into your beautiful resort by the beach. You spend the day relaxing by the beach. You can take a walk to the beach, relax by the swimming pool, and have lunch as you take in the beauty of Nungwi Beach.

Day 4: Blue Safari and Sunset cruise

In the morning you will have breakfast at your resort after which you head out for the blue safari which is basically a boat tour. The boat tour happens on a traditional dhow that is beautifully constructed from African mahogany by Zanzibari craftsmen. The boat excursion takes you through the clear blue waters around the islands of Zanzibar, the ride will take you to the spice island and other islands of Zanzibar. If you would like to swim the guide and dhow captain will let you know along the way when you get to a safe area for swimming. Lunch will be served on the boat.

In the afternoon you return to the resort and relax by the beach you can even order a drink or two and enjoy it at the beach or simply relax in the lounge area. In the late afternoon, you will go on a sunset cruise. Sunset cruises in Zanzibar are calm and slow in order to let you enjoy the beauty of the sunset over the expansive ocean. You leave Nungwi at about 4:00 pm and return at 6:30 pm, the cruise is a guided excursion and the cruise is a shared trip with other tourists but not overly crowded. Watching the sunset in Zanzibar while cruising on a traditional dhow is what one would consider as a magical experience! After the cruise you retire to the resort for overnight.

Day 5: Departure

Today will mark the end of your 5 days trip as you will check out of the hotel at the assigned time and the guide will then transfer you to the airport for your flight back home.
