Uganda’s Joshua Cheptegei Wins Men’s Olympic 10,000m Gold
Uganda is celebrating exciting news of one of their best athletes Joshua Cheptegei who just won the Men’s Olympic 10,000m Gold. This comes as exciting news for Uganda’s team, Joshua Cheptegei himself, Ugandan at home and the entire country at large. Joshua Cheptegei has set an Olympic record that will forever be celebrated and remembered by the Ugandan people. Joshua Cheptegei is a world record holder, a three time world champion and a silver medalist at the Tokyo games. In today’s record he timed at 26:43.14 setting a ground breaking record.
Joshua Cheptegei is a Ugandan long distance runner, born in Kapchorwa district in Uganda and has over the years represented Uganda in international competitions. Winning Gold today at the Olympics in Paris is testament of his incredible resilience and hard work that is why the Ugandan team and the people back home are celebrating and very proud of this win. Joshua Cheptegei is the 10th man in history to hold the 5000m and 10,000m world records simultaneously, both records were set in 2020.
