This 7 day safari will give you an experience of game viewing in Uganda’s top savanna parks and gorilla trekking in Bwindi. The tour starts with Queen Elizabeth National Park the most popular savanna park in Uganda, you then head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park that is home to the endangered mountain gorillas. You then head to Lake Mburo National Park for a wildlife experience in the smallest savanna national park.

Tour Plan

You arrive at Entebbe International airport where your driver guide will meet you, welcome you to Uganda and then take you to your lodge for overnight. Journey time: 15 minutes Accommodation:  Hotel No.5 (Luxury), The Boma (Mid-range), African Roots Guest House (Budget) Meal Plan: Dinner
After breakfast at your hotel you will head to Queen Elizabeth national park located in the western region of Uganda. On arrival you will check in to the lodge and spend the rest of the day taking in the beautiful views of the lodge. Optional Activity: Night game drive in the park where you look out for nocturnal animals especially the cats and hyenas. Journey time: 6 hours Accommodation: Kyambura Gorge Lodge (Luxury), Kikorongo Safari Lodge (Mid-range), Bush Lodge (Budget) Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Breakfast at the lodge will prepare you for the morning game drive. You will set out in to the Kasenyi plains as you look out for animals that include buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, Uganda kobs, lions, hyenas and antelopes among others. In addition to the game viewing you will have breathtaking views of the open savannah landscape of Queen Elizabeth national park. In the afternoon you will go on a boat ride on Kazinga channel which is a rewarding trip that offers incredible sightings of crocodiles, elephant, buffalo, waterbuck and large hippos. While on the boat cruise you will also look out for the gigantic monitor lizards and plenty of water birds that include cormorants, pelicans, storks, kingfishers and the papyrus gonolek. The boat ride starts a 2pm and takes 2 hours. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
ou will transfer to Bwindi national park on this day with your driver guide. On arrival in Bwindi check you will check in to your lodge. Journey time: 4 hours Accommodation: Bwindi Lodge (Luxury), Buhoma Haven Lodge (Mid-range), Rushaga Gorilla Camp (Budget) Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Breakfast at the lodge in the morning will prepare you for the gorilla trekking adventure in Uganda today. Your driver guide will transfer you to the park offices and here you will receive a briefing from your ranger guide. You then are allocated a gorilla family after which you begin your trek in to the forest. If your starting point is away from the park office your driver guide will drive you to the starting point. When you locate the gorillas you get to spend 1 hour with them where you watch them in their natural habitat and take photos during this time. The gorilla trek is a rewarding activity that brings you closer to these endangered species. After this trek back to the starting point, here you meet your guide who will then take you back to the lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After a hearty breakfast at your lodge you will head to Lake Mburo national park. The park is the smallest savannah national park in Uganda and this hidden gem offers excellent game viewing opportunities. On arrival at the park you will go on a short game drive in the park as you look to spot some animals in the park after the game drive you will go on a boat ride on Lake Mburo, take in the cool breeze of the lake. Animals that can be seen include hippos, crocodiles, other animals as they come to the lake to drink water and several species of water birds. Your day will end with you transferring to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Optional Activity: Night game drive where you look out for the nocturnal animals which tend to be active in the night. After an early breakfast you will head in to the park for the game drive. Lake Mburo offers excellent game viewing and this guided morning game drive starts as early as 6:00 am as morning hours is the best time sight animals. The park has different tracks to be explored from the impala and zebra tracks to the swamps and lakes where animals usually come in the dry season to drink water after feeding. Common animals that can be seen while on the game drive include buffaloes, topis, zebras, giraffes, impala, oribi and hippos. You will also sight different species of birds in the park and have amazing views of the vast landscape of Lake Mburo national park. Lion and leopard are very rare sightings in this park so do not expect to see them. After you end your game drive you will then travel back to Kampala with a stopover at the equator monument where you will take photos and have lunch. On arrival your driver guide will take you back to your hotel in Kampala or drop you off at the airport for your flight. Journey time: 3½ Hours Meal Plan: Breakfast and Lunch
