This 5 Days safari will combine two great adventures that is chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest national park which is popular for being home to the biggest population of chimpanzees in Uganda and gorilla tracking in Bwindi national park Uganda the only place to see gorillas in Uganda. The safari will offer you an encounter with the two great apes deep in the Kibale and Bwindi forests.

Tour Plan

The safari starts today with pick up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe by your driver guide. You then travel to Kibale national park in western Uganda. You will stopover in Fort portal town where you will have lunch. After this you proceed to Kibale national park, arrive at the lodge and then check in. Journey time: 5 hours Accommodation Luxury – Ndali Lodge Mid – range – Turaco Treetops Budget – Kibale Forest Camp Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner
You will have an early breakfast after which you are transferred to the park headquarters where you will receive a briefing from your ranger guide. The briefing is ideally the ranger guide giving you guide lines about the trek and how to behave around the chimps. You then start the trek to meet the chimpanzees, you are allowed to spend 1 hour with them once you locate them. You will have an opportunity to take photos and after that start the trek back. In the afternoon you will go on the Bigodi swamp walk which is a community run initiative that take you in to the Bigodi wetlands. Here you will look out for monkey species like blac-and-white colobus, red-tailed and red colobus. You will also look out for bird species with the most commonly sighted being the Great Blue Turaco. Today you will travel to Bwindi national park popularly known for mountain gorilla trekking in Uganda. The drive takes you through the scenery of Uganda from low highlands to open landscape. You will arrive at the lodge and check in. Breakfast at the lodge in the morning will prepare you for the gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi national park today. Your driver guide will transfer you to the park offices and here you will receive a briefing from your ranger guide. You then are assigned a gorilla family and then start your trek in to the forest. When you locate the gorillas you get to spend 1 hour with them where you watch them in their natural habitat and take photos during this time. The gorilla trek is a rewarding activity that brings you closer to these endangered species. After this trek back to the starting point, here you meet your guide who will then take you back to the lodge. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After your breakfast at the lodge you check out and start the journey back to Entebbe or Kampala. On arrival your driver guide will drop you off at your hotel or at the airport if you have a late night flight on the same day. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch
