This 10 days safari in Uganda takes you to Bwindi impenetrable national park for the famous gorilla trekking adventure, Kibale forest national park for Chimpanzee trekking in Uganda, rhino trekking and game viewing in Queen Elizabeth and Murchison falls national parks.

Tour Plan

You will arrive at Entebbe International airport today and you will be met by your driver guide who will be waiting for depending on your estimated time of arrival. The guide will then transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe for overnight. Journey time: 15 minutes Accommodation: Hotel No.5 (Luxury), Best western Garden Hotel (Mid-range), African Roots Guest House (Budget) Meal Plan: Dinner
Breakfast at your hotel this morning prepares you for the journey to Murchison Falls national park. The drive takes you through the stunning scenery and landscape of Uganda. Lunch will be along the way. You will have a stopover for rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. The sanctuary currently has 32 white rhinos.After you receive a briefing from your ranger guide you will start your trek on foot to meet the rhinos. After this trek you continue with the journey. On arrival at the park you proceed to the lodge, check in and have dinner. You will leave the lodge as early as 6am for the morning game drive. The game drive will take place in the northern section of Murchison falls national park which has a large concentration of the park’s wildlife. Wildlife to look out for include elephants, giraffes, lion, warthogs, buffaloes, patas monkey, olive baboons, Uganda kobs, water bucks, hyenas and bush bucks. On a lucky day you might have a chance of spotting the leopard however this is a rare sighting. In the afternoon you will head for a boat ride on River Nile at 2:00pm where you have opportunities to look out animals like crocodiles, hippos, monitor lizards, elephants, antelope species and water birds. The animals usually come to the river to drink water and cool off under the afternoon scorching sun. The boat ride takes you right below the water falls; here you get off the boat and start the hike to the top of the falls. The hike takes about 45 minutes – 1 hour. The top of the falls offer breathtaking views and opportunities to take great photos of the water falls and the vast landscape of the national park. Today you will transfer to Kibale forest national park which is also referred to as primate capital of East Africa. The drive to the park offers scenic views of Uganda’s landscape and vegetation. Arrive at the lodge in Kibale, check in and have lunch. After lunch your driver guide will take you to visit the Fort Portal crater lakes located near the park, here you will capture great photos and return to the lodge later for dinner. oday morning your driver guide will transfer you to the park headquarters where you will receive a briefing from your ranger guide about the guidelines to follow on your trek. After the briefing you start the journey in to Kibale forest as you look out for the chimpanzees, man’s closest relatives. Once you locate the chimps you will spend one hour with them. You will also be able to capture great photos. Different species of birds and some monkeys can be seen while on the chimp trek. In the afternoon you will go on the Bigodi wetland walk which is a community run initiative that takes you in to the Bigodi wetlands. While on the walk you look out for monkey species like black-and-white colobus, red-tailed and red colobus. You will also look out for bird species with the most commonly sighted being the Great Blue turaco. The walk will also take you in to the community to have a look in to the way of life of the locals, their culture and traditions. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today you leave Kibale national park and travel to Queen Elizabeth national park which is the a prime destination for wildlife safaris in Uganda. On arrival you check in to your lodge and spend the rest of the day relaxing at the lodge. Journey time: 2 hours Accommodation: Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury), Kikorongo Safari Lodge (Mid-range), Bush Lodge (Budget) Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
You will have an early breakfast at the lodge and then set out for the game drive. You will set out in to the Kasenyi plains as you look out for animals that include buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, Uganda kobs, lions, hyenas and antelopes among others. In addition to the game viewing you will have breathtaking views of the open savannah landscape of Queen Elizabeth national park. In the afternoon you will go on a boat cruise on Kazinga channel which is a rewarding trip that offers incredible sightings of crocodiles, elephant, buffalo, waterbuck and large hippos. While on the boat cruise you will also look out for the gigantic monitor lizards and plenty of water birds that include cormorants, pelicans, storks, kingfishers and the papyrus gonolek. You will travel to Bwindi national park on this day as you drive through the stunning scenery of Uganda and also drive through the small trading centers where locals can be seen going on with their daily lives. On arrival check in and spend the day taking in the beauty of your lodge. Optional Activity – Community Tour Journey time: 4 hours Accommodation: Bwindi Lodge (Luxury), Buhoma Haven Lodge (Mid – range), Rushaga Gorilla Camp (Budget) Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
You will leave the lodge as early as 6am in the morning; the driver guide will take you to the national park offices. Here you will receive a briefing with clear guide lines about your trek. After the briefing you will be assigned the gorilla family and then begin your trek in to Bwindi forest. Once you locate the gorillas you are allowed to spend 1 hour with them. After this you start the trek back. Optional Activity: Gorilla Habituation – The gorilla habituation experience offers you an opportunity to spend more time with the gorillas as opposed to the gorilla trek. The gorilla habituation experience allows visitors to spend 4 hours with the gorillas in their natural habitat which is more time than the one hour spent with the primates on a gorilla trek. You end you safari today as you travel back to Kampala with a stopover at the Uganda Equator monument where you will take photos and then have lunch before proceeding with your journey. Journey time: 8 hours Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch
