This 5 days safari takes you to Maasai Mara Game Reserve which is Kenya’s most popular tourism destination. Drive through the grassy savanna plains of the Masai Mara as you look out for the game in the reserve from the big cats to herbivores to predators. The safari will also take you to Lake Nakuru National Park park which is a protected area in Kenya that protects the famous Lake Nakuru which is one of the rift valley soda lakes.

Tour Plan

Your safari begins today as your driver guide will pick you up from your preferred hotel or location in Nairobi early in the morning. After introductions you start the journey to the famous Maasai Mara. You will have a stopover at the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley that offers stunning views. On arrival in Maasai Mara you head to the camp/lodge check in. In the late afternoon you go on game drive that will introduce to the game reserve. You will look out for wildlife in the park as you drive through and have stunning views of the Mara. After the game drive retire to the lodge for dinner. After a hearty breakfast today you will head in to the Maasai Mara for a morning game drive. The Maasai Mara is well known for the big cats that are best seen while on a game drive. Wildlife to look out for include Lions, Cheetah, African Leopard, wildebeest, Grant’s zebras, elephants, cape buffaloes, Maasai Giraffes, jackals, servals, spotted hyenas. Several antelope species can be seen in the reserve including Grant’s gazelles, Coke’s Hartebeests, Thomson’s gazelles, duikers, impalas, and roan antelope. The Mara and Talek rivers are the best places to see the crocodiles and large groups of hippos. After lunch you head out for an afternoon game drive for more wildlife encounters. After breakfast today you will check out of the camp/lodge and then head out for a morning game drive which will be your last game drive in the park. More wildlife and birdlife species to look out for this morning. After the game drive we begin the journey to Lake Nakuru National Park, Lake Nakuru is a shallow alkaline lake that is well known for attracting a large population of flamingos which are attracted to the abundant algae they feed on that survives in the warm waters of the soda lake. On arrival you will check into the lodge and go on an introductory evening game drive in the national park. After a long day retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Today morning we go on a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. Wildlife to look out for include the Rothschild’s giraffe, lions, cheetahs, leopards, cape buffaloes, hippos, eland, water buck, zebras, warthogs, wildebeest, the recently introduced eastern black rhinos and southern white rhinos and on rare occasions the wild dog may be sighted in the park. The park is also home to primates such as black-and-white colubus monkeys, vervet monkeys and olive baboons. Lake Nakuru host a variety of bird life and more than 500 species have been recorded including the well-known lesser and greater flamingos, pied kingfishers, African fish eagles, Goliath heron, hamerkop, Verreaux’s eagle, Great white pelican, Greater blue-eared starling etc. After the game drive we start the journey back to Nairobi. On arrival in the city your driver guide will drop you off at your hotel or preferred location in Nairobi as you end your magical safari to the Maasai Mara.
