This safari will take you to Queen Elizabeth national park one of Uganda’s most popular savannah park and a prime destination for excellent game viewing. Queen Elizabeth national park boast of a variety of wildlife including elephants, lions, Uganda kob, water buck, topi, bush buck, spotted hyenas, side-striped jackal and buffaloes.

Queen Elizabeth national park is famously known for the tree climbing lions which can be seen on a game drive in Ishasha south west of the park.

Tour Plan

Your driver guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. You will then start the journey to Queen Elizabeth national park which is located in the western region of Uganda. The drive takes you through the scenery of Uganda and the small trading centers; this gives you a snippet in to the life of the locals. Your will have a lunch stop along the way. On arrival in the park the driver guide will take you to your lodge where you will check in and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Optional Activity – Night game drive. Journey time: 6 hours Accommodation Options: Kyambura Gorge Lodge (Luxury), Kikorongo Safari Lodge (Mid-range) or Bush Lodge (Budget) Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner
You will set out for the game drive early in the morning with your tour guide. Game drives in Queen Elizabeth national park are carried out in the Kasenyi plains where you look out for a variety of wildlife including elephants, warthogs, buffaloes, lions, spotted hyena and antelope species among others. In the afternoon you will go on a boat ride on Kazinga channel for 2 hours. Kazinga channel is a 32 km channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward and a boat ride along this channel is one of the highlights of your safari. While on the boat ride look out for elephants that like to play in the water, crocodiles sun bathing along the shores, hippos, monitor lizards and several species of water birds. Return to the lodge later in the day and have dinner. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After your breakfast at the lodge you will transfer to Ishasha sector which is found in the south western part of Queen Elizabeth national park. On arrival you will go on a game drive in search of the famous tree climbing lions, once you locate the lions the driver guide will park the car within reasonable distance and you will then take photos and watch the lions. The tree climbing lions are a beautiful sight as they lazily relax in the fig trees. Other animals to look out for include topi, elephants and buffaloes. After this you will proceed to the lodge for lunch. You will later go for a late afternoon game drive for another opportunity to search for the tree climbing lions in Ishasha and other animals. Return to the lodge for dinner after the game drive. Today you will travel back to Kampala with short stop overs along the way. On arrival in Kampala or Entebbe your driver guide will drop you off at your hotel. If your flight is on the same day your driver will drop you off at Entebbe Airport. Meal Plan: Breakfast and Lunch
