This 4 days safari combines the chimpanzee trekking adventure in Kibale Forest National Park with a wildlife safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park. This safari itinerary is a great mix of primate trekking and wildlife encounters in the savanna plains. Queen Elizabeth National Park is popular for its abundance of wildlife that is seen both in the grasslands and while on a boat ride on Kazinga Channel. Kibale National Park speaks for itself as it is one of the best places to see the chimpanzees in Uganda.

Tour Plan

You will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe by your driver guide early in the morning. You then start the journey to Kibale Forest National Park with a stopover in Fort portal town for lunch. You then continue to the national park and then check in to your lodge.
In the afternoon you will go on the Bigodi swamp walk. The wetland walk is a community run initiative which takes you to the Bigodi wetlands that hosts different species of monkeys like the black-and- white colobus, red-tailed and olive baboons. The wetlands also have bird species like the Great Blue Turaco. The also take you in to the community for an encounter with the locals and their daily life. You will be transferred to the park office by your driver guide for your chimpanzee trek in Kibale Forest. You will then receive a briefing from your ranger guide with guidelines about your trek. After this you set out in to the park as you look out for the chimpanzees. You are allowed to spend 1 hour with the chimpanzees as you watch them feed and actively jump from one tree branch to another. You will have an opportunity to take photos and then start the walk back to the park office where you initially started your chimp trek After the chimpanzee trek you will travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the afternoon with your driver guide. On arrival check in to your lodge and have dinner. You will go on an early morning game drive in the park after having breakfast at the lodge. The game drive will take place in Kasenyi Plains as this is where you get the best game viewing opportunities. Wildlife to look out for include hyenas, lions, elephants, buffaloes and antelope species among other animals. Your afternoon will be spent on a relaxing boat ride on Kazinga channel. The boat ride offers great opportunities to look out for water birds, hippos, crocodiles that like to sunbathe on the shores, elephants that like to pay in the water and antelopes as they come to the shores to drink water in the afternoon.
