Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of Uganda’s most popular national park offering remarkable wildlife encounters amidst the open savanna. Located in western Uganda, the national park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, scenic explosion craters and abundant wildlife. The national park hosts 95 mammal species and over 620 species of birds. This 2 day tour to Queen Elizabeth national park takes you on a journey exploring Uganda’s “medley of wonders.”

Tour Plan

Your driver guide will meet you at your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. You will then start your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park with stopover along the way for lunch or to use the toilet. Enjoy stunning views of Uganda’s landscape along the way. On arrival you will go on a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel, a beautiful boat trip along the 32km wide channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. The highlight of the boat ride is looking out for Nile crocodiles and gigantic hippos that are often seen relaxing and meddling in the fresh water. While on the boat cruise you will also look out for the Nile monitor lizards and plenty of water birds that include cormorants, pelicans, storks, kingfishers and the papyrus gonolek. Wildlife like elephants, waterbucks, Uganda kobs and other antelopes are usually seen as they like to gather around the channel to drink fresh water and quench their thirst. Prepare to capture some great photos while on the boat ride. Overnight is at a beautiful safari lodge inside Queen Elizabeth national park or near the park boundary. Breakfast at the lodge will prepare you for the morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park. You will set out in to the Kasenyi plains as you look out for wildlife, trails along the Kasenyi open savanna grassland plains offer the best opportunities for wildlife viewing. The game drive begins as early as 6:00am for chances to see some nocturnal species before they go into hiding. Animals in Queen Elizabeth park that include Lions, Cape buffaloes, Elephants, Warthogs, Uganda kobs, Spotted hyenas, Water bucks, Olive baboons, Vervet monkeys among other wildlife. On the game drive you also have chances of coming across hippos foraging on land, savanna bird species including raptors on a good day. After the game drive you will travel back to Kampala/Entebbe and on arrival your driver guide will drop you off at your hotel or Entebbe airport for your outgoing flight.
