Our Terms & Conditions

Below are the terms and conditions for 56Africa Tours Limited. We advise that you read them carefully before confirming your booking with us. These terms and conditions apply on all our safari packages, tour itineraries and quotations.

Bookings and Reservation

When booking with 56Africa Tours Limited please inform us of the itinerary that is of interest to your, your preferred dates of travel, particular interests, number of people travelling for the tour, your preferred accommodation type (Luxury, Upmarket, Mid-range or Budget), genders and age of the people travelling for the tour and your flight details if known at the time of booking.

To reserve gorilla permits we need the following details – your full names as they appear on your passport, your nationality, your passport number and home address. The minimum age for gorilla tracking is 15 years and the minimum age for chimpanzee trekking is 12 years. Please note that gorilla permits are in high demand so we highly recommend advance booking of at least three months to secure the dates needed. The national park authorities reserve the right to stop anyone from tracking if signs of a communicable disease are noticed on a person.

Once the tour is confirmed the client must inform 56Africa Tours Limited of any special requests like dietary requirements, medical needs, requirements related to disabilities and any special occasions that the clients wish to celebrate while on tour. 56Africa Tours Limited will meet the requests made if possible.  

If you want to make changes in your itinerary after the booking has been confirmed we will make effort to ensure that the necessary changes are made and then confirm them with you. Please note that dates for gorilla and chimpanzee trekking cannot be adjusted after a booking is made. 56Africa Tours Limited reserves the right to charge an amendment fee in relation with any additional costs incurred.

All packages of 56Africa Tours Limited are subject to availability and are not guaranteed until confirmed.

Payment

Once the booking has been confirmed we require a 50% deposit to be made. This deposit includes the fee for the gorilla and chimpanzee trekking permits. The permits are always in high demand hence we will go ahead and purchase the permits as soon as the deposit is received. The rest of the payment should be made a month prior to the start date of the tour.

For bookings made within a month to the start date of the tour full payment is required in order to confirm the booking. In both cases 56Africa Tours Limited will issue a receipt for the payment that will have been made.

Mode of Payment

Payment can be done by bank transfer direct to our account in Uganda. The alternative mode of payment is credit card payments (Visa and MasterCard). Bank transfer costs are to be incurred by the client. All our prices are quoted in US Dollars.

Cancellations

Cancellation requests must all be made in writing and shall be acknowledged after review by 56Africa Tours Limited. The cancellation is only effective on the date on which the written cancellation notice is received.

Below are the cancellation charges that apply to the booking tour price with 56Africa Tours Limited:

  • 60 days or more prior to arrival      10% cancellation charge, 90% refund
  • 30 – 60 days                                        25% cancellation charge, 75% refund
  • 10 – 29 days                                        50% cancellation charge, 50% refund
  • 3 – 9 days                                             90% cancellation charge, 10% refund
  • 48 hours or less prior to arrival       100% cancellation charge, no refund

Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking permits are non-refundable. Therefore they are excluded from the cancellation percentage fees above. However in the event of cancelling we can try to resell the permits and if successful issue a refund for that.

Please note that we will NOT issue a refund in the event that there is late arrival, no show at the start date of the tour and for any unused services.

The company reserves the right to cancel the tour at any time. In the event that the cancellation happens the client will be notified and the process to issue a refund will begin immediately.

Changes of Tour

56Africa Tours Limited reserves the right to make changes in itinerary, change the routes of the tour and adjust the tour plans in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, road closures, security conditions or problems with national parks, hotels and lodges.

56Africa Tours Limited reserves the right to change accommodation in the event that the requested accommodation is unavailable or fully booked. The reservation team personnel will keep the client updated on the changes made.

56Africa Tours Limited reserves the right to prohibit any person from continuing the tour or participating in the tour if any case of misbehavior such as damage to property and environment or eco systems, threat to a third party or cause of danger is noticed either by any person in authority or by 56Africa Tours Limited. In the event of this no refund will be given to the person prohibited from continuing or participating in the tour.

Transport

56Africa Tours Limited makes sure that client’s safari vehicles are provided in a roadworthy condition however in cases of puncture, breakdowns, delays and damages due to poor road conditions, the company is not liable as this is beyond the company’s control.

Tour Price (Included & Excluded)

The tour price quotations are inclusive of ground transport (car and fuel), professional tour guide, bottled water in the safari vehicle, accommodation as per itinerary, activities as listed in the itinerary, permits where needed and park entrance fees to the national parks listed in the itinerary.

The tour price does not include international flights, visa fees, alcoholic drinks and beverages, soft drinks like sodas, Insurance, tips, meals not listed in the itinerary, optional or supplementary activities and personal expenses like laundry, telephone calls.

All bookings are dependent on availability and the prices quoted to clients are subject to change to change without notice. Prices quoted are not guaranteed until trip is confirmed and are subject to change depending on accommodation availability and your changes in relation to the itinerary.

56Africa Tours Limited reserves the right to adjust the price at any time. This may occur due to fluctuation of the exchange rate and increase in different tariffs. In the event that this happens the company will try its level best to reduce the effect of the increase.

Complaints

Any complaints should be reported directly to the guide or a representative of 56Africa tours limited and we will do our best to resolve the complaints reported. If the complaint is not resolved to the client’s satisfaction the complaint should be reported to us in written form via email and not later than 30 days after completing the tour. Our teams will then follow up and investigate the issue further.

Insurance and Health

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that they get travel insurance and medical insurance before they come for their safari in Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania. It is also the client’s responsibility to adhere to the health precautions that include getting the necessary immunizations before the trip.

Liability

56Africa Tours Limited cannot accept liability or pay compensation for unforeseen circumstances that are out of the company’s control. These unforeseen circumstances include flight delays or cancellations, border closure, acts of government and authorities, civil unrest, road closure, riots, war or threat of war, strikes, epidemics, thefts, fires, terrible weather conditions, terrorist attacks, natural disasters, technical and mechanical issues to transport and other similar events beyond the company’s control.

56Africa Tours Limited provides all the detailed information concerning the trip in the client’s tour itinerary and is not liable for modified information from third parties and for any obvious typing errors.

56Africa Tours Limited shall not be liable for injury, loss, delay and damage in any manner whatsoever whether to person or property.

Viewing Animals

The animals in the parks are wild animals so please note that there are no guarantees. Our guides will however try their level best to bring you a great safari experience. Please be cautious when viewing the animals and always adhere to the guidelines given to you by your tour and ranger guides.

A gorilla and chimpanzee permit guarantees that you will track these primates to their location but does not guarantee that the primates will be in plain sight.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

How long we retain your data
